Noble Court Lofts - 24 Noble Street
This is a vintage live/work loft in a residential neighbourhood setting. The Noble Court Lofts are located at Queen Street West at Dufferin. The building was converted from industrial/office use to live and/or work spaces.
Built in 1910 by AA Barthelmas & Co who were action makers (actions are the system of lever trains between the hammers and keys of a piano whereby the finger movements at the keys are transferred to the hammers and dampers that produce tones from the strings and mute them, respectively). The building saw many other uses from key manufacturing to tobacconist to mops and brushes and more. Last use was Express Food Wholesale and Universal Toy and Novelty. Greenwin/Shiplake was the last owner, with the conversion to lofts in late 1980s.
The units in this loft conversion are surprisingly affordable and are steps from the trendy Queen West area close to the Gladstone, the Drake, and Queen Street art galleries, and all amenities. It's also a short walk to Roncesvalles Village and easy access to the downtown core via streetcar.
